WALKING IN THE TRANSFORMING POWER OF THE GOSPEL
Let me show you this verse in the Amplified Bible Translation;
'For we walk by faith [we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance.'
- we regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction
This verse shows us how the Believer lives in this world; our conducts evolve from our belief/conviction of the Gospel. That means, we act what we believe, we do what we believe; we put to practice our beliefs in the Gospel. So to believe and not act, is not walking in faith. - Selah. And remember, not to walk by faith is walking in the flesh (the lusts and pleasures of sin), and you cannot please God when you walk in the flesh;
'So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.' - Romans 8 vs 8 {KJV}
Therefore, by faith, we walk in the transforming power of God.
SOME REALITIES OF THE GOSPEL
- The Believer in Christ is the righteousness of God {2 Corinthians 5 vs 21}
- The Believer in Christ is holy {1 Peter 2 vs 9}
- The Believer in Christ is a new creation {2 Corinthians 5 vs 17}
The WORD tells you who you are in Christ; you believe it, then you live it. This is the definition of a Believer walking by faith. - Selah
So you believe those realities listed above? Then walk therein, walk in the light of the reality of the Gospel that you have believed, align your life to conform to what you believe. As you walk as such - walking in faith towards the realities of the Gospel, you experience the transforming power of God in your life; weaknesses disappear, addictions disintegrate, and sinful behaviors are no more. Walking in faith towards the WORD is how we experience the transforming power of God in our Christian attitudes. You will realise that that bad attitude or addiction doesn't have a hold over you anymore. Why? Because you are acting the Truth - this is faith. Acting the Truth is how you walk in the Spirit; and when you walk in the Spirit, you cannot fulfil the lust of the flesh;
'This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.' - Galatians 5 vs 16 {KJV}
Looking at this verse deeply, we learn that in faith (the practice of our beliefs), the power of God to transform a man is seen. God's transforming power is embedded in faith (the practice of our beliefs). So a Believer who walks by faith - I mean, a Believer who acts out what he believes, is walking in the transforming power of God; that man will be changed, he can never be the same man he used to be. - Selah
God's power to transform a Believer's conduct and lifestyle is seen in the Believer's act of faith (acting what you believe). As you put to action the realities of the Gospel you have believed, God's transforming power is released in your life. - Think about it. This means that the Believer must cooperate with the Gospel to see the realities of the Gospel evident in his life. And how do you cooperate with the Gospel? By first believing it, then living it out. Believers who don't practice their beliefs are such who are ungodly in their characters and lifestyles even though they know and believe the Gospel. - Selah
