OVERCOMING PORNOGRAPHY THROUGH THE POWER OF GRACE

'For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.' - 1 Corinthians 2 vs 16

Hello dearly beloved of God in Christ Jesus. I trust God to bring you heavenly bliss and divine help through these words shared in this Article. Amen.

Firstly, I will like to bring afresh to your mind that we Believers, we walk by faith and not by sight. In other words, our reality is according to the word of God, and not according to the facts of the senses.

'...For we walk by faith, not by sight...' - 2 Corinthians 5 vs 7 {KJV}

Okay. You must also realize that they that live according to the sight, those whose reality are the facts of the senses will of a necessity face the consequences for their actions done in the senses - it's legal; and those whose reality is the written word of God will of a necessity experience the effects of believing therein - this is also legal. - Selah

Pornography creates a mental effect in the minds of them that are entangled by it, and many are stuck in the ripple effects of pornographic imaginations which get them crazy, confused, frustrated, tired and depressed. As a result, many seek the way out of these imaginations, many are earnestly looking for an escape root out of this mental oppression, and because they don't know or realize the only possible way out which is in Christ Jesus, by resting on His grace and relying on His finished work, they grope to no aid. - Selah

Now let's see what the Bible says, let's take a look at our opening Bible passage again;

'For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.' - 1 Corinthians 2 vs 16 {KJV}

We take knowledge here that the man in Christ has the mind of Christ. Uhmmm. So you have the mind of Christ, I have the mind of Christ. So when you that is a Believer say "I have a f**ked up mind", you're wrong! You have the mind of Christ. Hey!!! Remember what the Bible says, the Believer walks by faith (trust in the Word) and not by sight (facts of the senses). Hence, choosing to believe the word of God over your situation or situations is reliance on the grace of God, it's dependency on the word of God - total and absolute dependence on the grace of God. - Selah

The voice of condemnation grips your heart and mind, holding you guilty for pornography, but you have the mind of Christ (Excellent, Pure, Holy, Divine, Fresh). By implication, that voice of condemnation is talking to the wrong person; so you resist that voice of condemnation with the revelation of the Word, and you persist! Now, this is the Fight of Faith, holding firm to the revelation of the Word over the facts of the senses. - Selah

If you choose to believe the Word regardless of how you feel about your actions, this is what the Word says concerning you;

'Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.' - Romans 15 vs 13 {KJV}

Hallelujah! Believing! Faith in the Word, reliance on the Word instills joy and peace in the Believer. Hold on! Hey, hold on beloved, you will be fine. Keep holding on to the Word! Sometimes, you will require to endure a period of time while you're still holding on to the revelation of the Gospel. In the process of time as you hold on to the Word, peace springs forth. In the process of time. - Selah

Yes you feel bad about your pornographic indulgence, you can't stop those pornographic thoughts from playing and replaying in your mind, but beloved, refuse to accept that you have a problem with your mind! You have the mind of Christ. "But those pictures and those clips keep playing out in my mind..." Hey! Your mind? No, that cannot be your mind, you have the mind of Christ! You have God's own mind: Excellent, Pure, Holy, Beautiful, Fresh, Ever Fresh, Fruitful, Creative, Sound, Heavenly, Divine. This is the mind you have. Accept this and hold on to this irrespective of how you feel. By holding on to the reality of the Word concerning you in Christ, you are doing the right thing and indeed fulfilling the Word that has said, We walk by faith, not by sight. Living by faith is not denial of fact, but it is putting the word of God above your experience. - Think about it. And you know what, when you are settled in faith in the Word, you are in the position where you can live above all works of darkness; because the peace of God in a man leads him into all good and joyous things. Hallelujah!
