THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT Pt.1

'And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--' - John 14 vs 16 {AMPLIFIED BIBLE}

Dearly beloved, this is an interesting topic here, talking about the ministry of the Holy Spirit, what He came to do in us and for us. Just be blessed.

This was the Lord speaking here in our opening scripture. He said He would send unto us another comforter. Now, let me address what that means.

UNDERSTANDING THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When you hear the word 'Holy Spirit', stop looking out for another different personality in Heaven or in the God-head, no! The Holy Spirit is simply Jesus! The spirit of Jesus is what is referred to as the Holy Spirit. Let me show this to you;

'Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.' - 2 Corinthians 3 vs 17 {KJV}

You see that? The Lord is the Spirit. He called the Holy Spirit the spirit of the Lord, and the Lord is Jesus. Let me also expose your mind to another thought;

'But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me...' - John 15 vs 26 {KJV}

You see, we see that the Spirit is not a separate person from God, Jesus said He proceeds from the Father. Question? Who is the Father? Answer: The Father is Jesus!   Jesus is our Father. There is no other Father except Jesus. You may be in doubts, see this;

John  1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
{KING JAMES VERSION}

You see that? Here makes us understand that God has been a word since the beginning.

'And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day...' - Genesis 3 vs 8 {KJV}

You see that? Even in the beginning, Adam only knew God by His voice! God has been a voice since the beginning of Creation, until He picked up a body for Himself on earth so He could die for us, and He was named Jesus been that as a human beign you need a name! That's why He specially named Himself by instructing an Angel to tell Mary what name He was to be named, because He was God. Are you still in doubt that Jesus is the Father and no other Father apart from Him?

'And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.' - 1 Timothy 3 vs 16 {KJV}

Did you see that? He said God was manifest in the flesh! Did you see that? Are you still doubting? So that Person people call Jesus is actually God! Waow. Listen, The term 'God' is not a name, God has a name! And the name of God is Jesus! God simply means supremacy, diety, that's not a name. When you call on Jesus, you are calling on God your Father. My dear, Jesus is God, and God created the world. So when next someone asks you, what is the name of your God, tell them Jesus! Hahahahahahahahaha. You see why no one can be saved except he believes on Jesus? There are many Religions today who claim they know God but don't believe in Jesus. They are only deceiving themselves, because Jesus is the God they claim they know, but because they don't accept Jesus as God, they are not saved! Because to deny Jesus is to deny your God. How then can such a one be saved? - Selah. Let's see this;

'Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?' - John 14 vs 9 {AMPLIFIED BIBLE}

Did you see that? Jesus said, anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. Meaning He was telling them He Himself was the Father! Are you understanding something? Now, I love the last word Jesus said in that passage. He said, How can you say then, Show us the Father? Meaning, Jesus was saying, which other Father exists again apart from Me? O my God! I wish you got it!!! Yes you did.   I pray you have understood that Jesus is the Father, and there is no other Father outside Jesus. AMEN.

Now back to our teaching. So by Jesus saying He will send to us another comforter to live and dwell in us, He was saying He Himself will come to us and live in us in spirit form. Let's see that;

'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.' - John 14 vs 18 {KJV}

You see that? Jesus said He would not leave us comfortless, but He would come to us. How did He intend to come to us? It is by His spirit. That's the one we call 'The Holy Spirit'. Jesus (God) is Holy, hence, His spirit is a Holy Spirit. That's where the word came from, not that Holy Spirit is a name. No. The word Holy Spirit simply speaks of Jesus. So when you hear Holy Spirit, think of Jesus. So when you received the Holy Spirit, that was the precious spirit of the Lord Jesus you received. Meaning Jesus came into you in fulness. He brought His Personality, His Nature and His Life into you. Waow!   Now, what did Jesus say His Spirit will be to us? Let's see our opening scripture again;

'And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--' - John 14 vs 16 {AMPLIFIED BIBLE}

Here, we see that the Spirit of Jesus (Holy Spirit) in us is our;

* Comforter, * Counselor, * Helper, * Intercessor, * Advocate, * Strengthener, * Standby.

While I was praying, the Lord led me to teach on 'The Holy Spirit Our Helper.' So I am picking that out.

OUR HELPER

If we agree that the Lord is the Spirit, and we are told that the Spirit would be our helper, then it musts mean that while the Lord was here on earth, He was fulfilling the ministry of an Helper to His disciples. Yes. Let's see, please be very attentive and sensitive now;

Mark 4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? {KING JAMES VERSION}

I believe you know the story already, but let's see those last words of Jesus there in verse 40, 'how is it that ye have no faith?' What? This blows my mind! In the midst of that kind of jeopardic storm, He still expected them to have Faith? O my God. Then I began asking the Lord while I was still praying, I said Lord, what were you expecting them to have faith in? And the Lord said, they ought to be confident that their God and their helper was in that ship with them, therefore, nothing contrary could happen. That ought to be their confidence, and nothing would have happened without me saying a word to the Wind or to the Sea. Hey! I screamed!!! Do you know what this did to me? Do you know what He's talking about? O my God!!!

If we according to 2 Corinthians 3 vs 17 say that the Spirit we have received is the same Lord Jesus Christ, then it therefore means the Lord expects us to be calm and confident when storms of life blows at us, HE expects us to have the surety and certainty that because He (God) is in us, we are helped and nothing will happen! This was the confidence and faith He expected from His disciples on that ship, but they missed it. Will you miss it also? Or you will laugh at the storms when they come, knowing fully well that Jesus Christ is in your boat? - Selah

'Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.' - Hebrews 13 vs 5 {KJV}

You see? God (Jesus) has said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. God wants you to understand that He is your very present help in times of need. Let's see the next verse;

'So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.' - Hebrews 13 vs 6 {KJV}

You see that again? God (Jesus) has confirmed it here again that He's our helper. He said we shall not fear what man shall do unto us. That means no matter the storm, I boldly and confidently say and know that the Lord is my helper, hence, I'm not afraid. My dear, the Lord does not need your cry first like the disciples on the ship before He knows He should help you. No! Remember what I explained about the disciples and Jesus on the ship. Listen, the Lord knows why He came into you, He knows His job, and you don't instruct Him! He Himself said He is your helper. You never begged Him, He chose to be your helper! Meaning He is the one in haste to help you. He seeks opportunity to express help to you. Just recognize His presence in your life today. Don't miss it like the disciples on the ship.

Have confidence in the Spirit of the Lord today, that His presence in you is your Help above every challenge and circumstance you are faced with. For He is not only dwelling with you, but dwelling in you. {John 14 vs 17} Waow! Notice I did not say you will ask Him to help you, no! The disciples didn't need to call on Jesus to be rescued from the storm, all they had to do was to believe in the Authority of Jesus over the storm, but they missed that step that's why Jesus arose in disappointment. How do I know He was disappointed at them? I knew by what He said, 'Mark 4:40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?' You get it? Yea.

I want you to know that the PRESENCE of the spirit of the LORD in your life alone is your Help above every limitation, obstructions, challenges and circumstances.

Recognize HIS PRESENCE in your life today, and enjoy His Glorious Ministry of Help in you.

God Bless You.
