TAKE HEED TO THY MINISTRY - [Pastoral Guide]
'And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou has received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.' - Colossians 4 vs 17
Beloved in the Lord, this is a timely message from the Spirit of the Lord, to all those who have the calling of God upon their lives. So you can do someone who you know is a Minister of the Gospel a favour, by sharing this word or this entire Article with Him or Her so they can take warning.
From our Opening Scripture, the word underlined there TAKE HEED is very instructional. As I was in the Spirit of the Lord in worship to Jesus, I heard His word in my heart concerning this topic. He began explaining to me how many of His ministers have deviated from their original ministries, just because they love the ministry another fellow received of Him.
Now listen, the Lord that called you into that ministry is faithful. What do I mean by Ministry? For example, if you were anointed by the Holy Spirit (God) to be a Teacher of the Word, and here comes another fellow who has received a Prophetic Ministry, and because you love the Operations and Manifestations of the Prophetic Ministry, you switch from your Teaching Ministry, and begin to Desire and Act as a Prophet, such a fellow will never be effective in his work, because the Holy Spirit did not anoint him for the Prophetic Ministry.
To take heed means to take careful attention, to dispense diligence. So the Lord is calling on you to Dispense diligence to the Ministry or Office He called you into. If you have deviated already, return saith the Lord.
Note;
'You will never be effective outside the boundary of your ordination.' - Jenning
If you are ordained to be a Teacher of the word, your effectiveness is only within the Boundary of your Teaching Anointing. Once you deviate after other Offices which you were not ordained/anointed for, struggling is inevitable. This is the reason for many ineffective Prophets today. Because many of them are Teachers, some Pastors, some Evangelists by call, who deviated and began to do the Job of a Prophet, hence, the anointing of the Holy-Spirit didn't back them, hence, no evidence to show they are truly called Prophets. If you are ordained for the Prophetic, it will speak! If you are not a Prophet, no big deal! At least you are something. Stick to that which you are.
'Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.' - Revelations 2 vs 5 {KJV}
This is to you if you have fallen from your Original Office/Ministry, the Lord is saying to you to repent. Repent means to Change. Therefore return to your first work, your original office. The end-result of not going back to your original call is JUDGEMENT!
