IF WHEN WE WERE ENEMIES - [A Revelation of Everlasting Salvation in Christ]

'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.' - Romans 5 vs 10

Greetings dearly beloved of God in Christ. This Article is to the intent that you may cast deep thoughts on your divine heritage in Christ. So, let's examine our opening Bible passage;

'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.' - Romans 5 vs 10 {KJV}

  • If when we were enemies God reconciled us to Himself

Beloved think on the above highlighted words. Let's look at it this way, if you always suffered theft in your house apartment, someone always breaks into your house and steals your valuable and expensive belongings, and one day the thief was caught and brought to you, and in love you forgave him and made him your friend, and gave him access to your house to visit you at will. Now, if this fellow after becoming your friend, one day steals something from your house and you got to know that he was the one who stole it, question,

  1. Will you be surprised?
  2. Will you rage at him?
  3. Will you think of throwing him out?

Hahaha. Well, I won't be surprised that he stole the item, because I met him as a thief! He was already stealing from me when I made him my friend, so I shouldn't now be surprised that he has stolen again. But what will you seek to achieve in him? I tell you, you will be after his transformation! You are not surprised that he stole, you should not be disappointed at him that he stole from you, because you met him a thief! Rather, you will be concerned how to make him a better person. - Think about it

This was what the Apostle Paul was communicating in our opening Bible passage. Let's see it again;

'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.' - Romans 5 vs 10 {KJV}

If when we were enemies of God (in the way we lived our lives), God didn't mind saving us and making us a member of His household, much more now that we now belong to Him, do you think your errors will make you His enemy? No! That's the message of Romans 5 vs 10. The Apostle says, we shall be saved by his life. Meaning, we are going to be better because we are now members of His household - like that thief who you made to be your friend and gave free access to your house, you will want to do your best to see that he is a better person. - Selah. WE SHALL BE SAVED BY HIS LIFE. Glory to God. Let's see how other translations put that verse;

'For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin's dominion) through His [resurrection] life.' - {AMP}

'And since, when we were his enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of his Son, what blessings he must have for us now that we are his friends and he is living within us!' - {TLB}

'For if, when we were haters of God, the death of his Son made us at peace with him, much more, now that we are his friends, will we have salvation through his life...' - {BBE}

'We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God's friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ's life!' - {GNB}

  • We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends

If our worldliness did not stop God from loving us and saving us, our errors of human imperfections can never make God cast us out! - Think deeply on this

'All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.' - John 6 vs 37 {KJV}

  • Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out

"In no wise" used in that statement which the Lord made means that there will be no reason whatsoever for Him to cast out anyone who believes in Him. Just think about that my friend and relax.

Dearly beloved, your Salvation is a sure matter with God. Relax, be at rest, and live a good life. God is with you.
