‘The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw
with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?’
– John 4 vs 11
Hello beloved in Christ. I believe with this piece of
teaching, your spirit will be highly refreshed in the Grace of God. Be blessed. Amen.
From our opening Bible verse, we are introduced to the word, LIVING WATER. As we proceed in this
teaching, I will show you what it represents. But let’s see something;
‘But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give
him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in
him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.’ – John 4 vs 14
{KJV}
The Lord went further and said that any one that drinks of
that water shall never thirst. Firstly, what is that water, that living water
talked about from the beginning, what’s it? What water was the Lord talking
about? Let’s see it;
‘In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus
stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out
of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that
believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because
that Jesus was not yet glorified.) – John 7 vs 37 – 39 {KING JAMES VERSION}
Hallelujah! You see that? So the water spoke about by the Lord signifies the Spirit of God.
Now, going back to the scripture we read earlier, let’s see
it;
‘But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give
him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in
him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.’ – John 4 vs 14
{KJV}
In this statement, the LORD unveiled two (2) notable
realities which I will like to show to you;
WHOSOEVER DRINKETH OF
THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM SHALL NEVER THIRST
This means that anyone who receives the infilling of the
Holy Spirit will never thirst. Now, what does the Lord mean by shall never thirst?
In simple words, the Lord is saying, whosoever has received the infilling of
the Holy Spirit will never be in doubts. Wait a moment, I’ll show that to you
shortly. Secondly;
SHALL BE IN HIM A
WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE
This means that the Spirit of God in him will continually
remind him of the works of Jesus on the Cross for him, which aim is to bring
the soul into the Kingdom of the Father. – Selah
The Holy Spirit's assignment in the life of a Believer is to constantly
remind him of the words and the works of the Lord. Look at it;
‘But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the
Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all
things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.’ – John 14 vs
26 {KJV}
You see it there? One of the Ministry of the Holy Spirit in
us is to bring remembrance to us, the remembrance of Christ's words and His works.
There was a story of the testimony of a woman who believes,
who at some point in her life was given to immoralities and all such things.
And one day, she being consumed and swallowed up with guilt went out crying to
the Lord, kneeling before Him, asking for mercy for all of her evil deeds. And
you know what? Suddenly as she was still there on her kneels weeping, she heard
the still small voice of the Spirit saying to her softly in her heart, ‘You’ve
been forgiven already on the Cross’. She heard the Lord pointing her to the
Cross, showing her by that small voice how forgiven she is; and suddenly, joy
came and filled all her heart. Ooooo the guilt was gone, the condemnations gone,
she was filled with happiness beyond measures, joy unspeakable full of Glory!
And she left there glorifying God for His grace.
What a testimony. You see that... That’s the manifestation of
what we read in John 4 vs 14, He shall never thirst (He shall never be in
doubts, guilts, condemnation); why, Because the Water shall be in him a well of
water, springing up into everlasting life. In other words, the Spirit who is
the water, shall spring up remembrance of the words of Christ {The Scriptures}, and also, His works which are as well written in the scriptures.
Dearly beloved, recognize that still small voice of encouragement
today which springs up in your heart during despair times. Those are the words
of the Holy Spirit your comforter, my comforter. Hallelujah!
God Bless You.
