LAY HOLD ON THE PROMISES

‘Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.’ – 1 Timothy 6 vs 12

Hello Dearly Beloved, as you give your mind to this teaching, you will be filled with peace and assurance in such a special way. Read and be Blessed.

A lot of brethren all around the world have turn the Gospel the other way round, and through this teaching, I want to reverse the order according to the institution of the scriptures. Our opening scripture reveals a notable truth through a profound statement when it says, ‘lay hold on eternal life’. We are asked to lay hold on eternal life. The Apostle Paul says, ‘lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called’. You see? We have been called unto eternal life, which is translated in the Greek as “Aionois Zoe” which speaks of ‘Timeless Life’. So we have been brought into timeless life with the Father, we are already living with Him here on earth by reason of the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, and when we check out from earth, the continuation of that timeless life continues. Now Paul through the Spirit says to lay hold on that which you’ve got. – Selah

Brothers and Sisters, the characters of certain brethren makes it looks as if they are wiser than God. For example, Jesus said whosoever believes in Him has eternal life already {John 3 vs 15}. Why can’t we just accept what He’s given us? Rather we always want to refuse His order and institute our own order, whereby we say, live Righteously and you will have eternal life; what a crap! – Selah

In the old testament, the promises were conditioned to their obedience;

‘Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine’ – Exodus 19 vs 5 {KJV}

You see that? But in the reign of Jesus Christ, the dispensation of Grace which is the last and final dispensation, we see God saying something different;

‘But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light…’ – 1 Peter 2 vs 9 {KJV}

Waow, you see that? What does that tell you? We’ve been made what they were to work to attain! – Selah. In the old days, the order was thus; Work and Receive, in the new dispensation, the order is thus; Receive and you will definitely work. – Selah

Brothers and Sisters, all of God’s word spoken to us must be received, held on to and cling to, you must constantly and daily see yourself as someone already having eternal life; and if one has eternal life, then it thus means that his hope of Heaven is sure! When TRUTHS richly dwell in your heart in Faith, it produces joy and peace which are an assurance of the Heaven we hope for;

‘Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.’ – Romans 15 vs 13 {KJV}

You see that?

As you believe (Rely on, trust in, cling to) God’s word concerning you, you are filled with joy and peace by the power of the Holy Ghost, and that causes your hope of the Lord and of Heaven to increase. And at such point, when you are asked, ‘Should you die now, will you go to Heaven?’ Your answer will be ‘Most absolutely Yes’, no more doubts of your Heavenly residence. O Glory to God.

God’s promises, God’s Truths have so saturated my heart that even my flaws and errors cannot get that hope away from my heart. If my lapses cannot change the scriptures, my lapses will not be able to change my Faith. – Selah

Brothers and Sisters, God can be trapped in His words, God can be held by His words. Has He said you have eternal (Timeless) life? Then you got it! Hold on to this unwavering, and the joy of it and the love that sheds in your heart by the Holy Ghost by reason of that Revelation is what will cause you to want to please God in all your ways (In your thoughts, words, actions and character). Why? No man deliberately displeases whosoever he loves. It’s a law of nature!
