ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

'And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.' - Luke 10 vs 41 - 42 {KING JAMES VERSION}

The Spirit of God began to speak to my heart on this subject, and He began to show me the vainness and vanity of the earthly things men hold so dear. In the above passages, the Lord made a profound statement to Martha; first He said,

• thou art careful and troubled about many things

The word 'careful' used in that passage means 'to be anxious about' or 'to be worried about'. Meaning, thou art concerned about many things, or, thou art worried about many things.

In this world, people are anxious about so many things, they worry over many things: things that have no eternal relevance, things that will end in this world: money, husband, wife, fame, success, job, sustenance, relevance, etc. Some even go after these things at the expense of their soul,

'For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?' - Mark 8 vs 36 {KJV}

No profit! Then the Lord said to her,

• But one thing is needful
• and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her

One thing is needful; where you will be the moment you die! There is life after here, and that is a fact! Death can take away your phone - that beautiful iPhone of yours, yes death can take it away from you; death can take away your house, your family, your business, your job, your children! How? The moment a man dies, death has taken away these things from him, in that he has left them behind due to death. But you see eternal life, the Lord spoke about it in the Bible passage above,

'But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.' - Luke 10 vs 42 {KJV}

• which shall not be taken away from her

Death will take everything that is of this world from you! But those who have eternal life will go with it to eternity, and that will be their access into the presence of the KING, the Lord Jesus Christ. Think about this. One thing is needful! And that one thing is that you have ETERNAL LIFE!

'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' - John 3 vs 16 {KJV}

'The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.' - John 10 vs 10 {KJV}
