'I will arise and
go to my father, and will say unto Him, Father I have sinned against heaven,
and before thee...' - Luke 15 vs 18
This was the story of that
young man who is fondly called "the prodigal son", how he messed up, and
began to be stranded in a far country. He knew the gravity of his offence, he
requested for his inheritance from his Father, of which that request was
against the tradition; he knew he had done an abominable thing, as the dividing
of inheritance ought to have been done by the sole will and timing of the
Father, usually close to His time of departure, but he demanded it of his
Father. Now he had spent all his provisions, none gave to him {Luke 15 vs
16}, and in that dilemma, he remembers that his Father has alot insomuch
that his Father's servants have enough both for themselves and to spare {Luke
15 vs 17}, then he took this ultimate decision as we have seen in our
opening Bible verse;
'I will arise
and go to my father, and will say unto Him, Father I have sinned against
heaven, and before thee...' - Luke 15 vs 18 {KJV}
He knew he wasn't qualified
by any standard to go back to his Father to seek provision from Him; he knew in himself
that he wasn't worthy to be called any longer the son of his Father {Luke 15
vs 19} because he had done an abominable thing, yet he decided to be
courageous and take that step of faith, and go to his Father. - Selah
This could be you right now
dearly beloved, you might have done stuffs that has imputed in your heart a
disconnect from God, you feel that disconnect so strong that you don't feel God has any need for you; you may be a Minister of the Gospel, one who ought to be
an example to the Believers, you might have flopped big time in your conduct,
and you feel disconnected from God, you don't have the boldness to approach
God. But just like this guy in this story we have looked at in the Bible, arise
and go to the Father. The Lord Jesus told that parable not to share with the
people just another beautiful story, no! but rather, to show to them the nature
and heart of the Father towards the offender. - Selah. The Father prices high
one who was lost and has returned to be found. But you first have to come to
yourself, arise and go to God. You might have fears, no problem! come to Him with the fear, just say, "Father, I am here,
help me". Watch how He upholds you with His Word, purge you of your guilt, and set
your feet standing again. Amen. Hallelujah!
So dearly beloved, even when
you feel that you don't deserve to go to Him, even when you know in yourself
that you are not deserving of Him, yet I will go to my Father. Where
else can I go to? Who else can I go to but Him? Who else will receive you outside Him? His wrath is better than the love of men. - Selah
This should be your resolve, I will go to my Father.
God is with you.
