ADDRESSING THE PAIN OF AVOIDABLE MISTAKES
'And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.' - Romans 8 vs 28
Hello dearly beloved in the LORD JESUS. Be lifted by this piece of edification.
Many Believers are in the pain of certain mistakes they have made at one point in their lives, and for some or most, they know that they are forgiven by GOD, they have no doubt, they know that GOD has forgiven them, but there is still a pain that is there; and that pain is as a result of the fact that they regret that they committed or did such acts because it was actually avoidable. They know fully well that the mistake or act of sin was indeed avoidable yet they fell to it, and that is the root of their pain and not the sin or mistake in itself. So how do we deal with this? Our opening Passage informs us that all things work together for our good. Hold on, it says all things, and that includes avoidable mistakes. Now it's easy for one to say, but Pastor, let's forget this thing, I could have avoided this thing, it was very possible to be avoided, I just messed up, how then does this work together for my good? What a question! These are thoughts the devil fires to the Believer's mind to keep Him/Her in regret and perpetual pain. But GOD said all things, all things works together for good. I love what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10 vs 13;
'There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.' - {KJV}
The original word in the Greek for 'temptation' as used in that passage is peirazó, and peirazó means trial, test; off course all these can be painful. So In other words, that passage is saying, any pain or test we are faced with, GOD saw it and allowed it, as HE will not allow the ones that we cannot bear to come to us. That means if HE allowed that condition you are faced with to come to you, that means HE knows it will not kill you, that means HE knows you will surely come out of it as HE Himself will make an escape out of it for you. Can you now see that it is for your good? GOD is using that trial to birth a new thing in your life, to birth in you wisdom and spiritual maturity, which will lead to the advancement of HIS plan and purposes for your life here on Earth, and at the end, make you better and more glorious in wisdom, character and godliness than you were. So you may call it an avoidable mistake, but our Loving Father is using that situation of pain you are in right now to refine you, reshape you, and mature you in HIM, such that when you finally come out of it, it becomes clear to you that indeed it worked for your good.
Be at rest and fall in Love with JESUS. Remember, in CHRIST, you have already received the forgiveness of your sins;
'In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace...' - Ephesians 1 vs 7 {KJV}
Acknowledge this and be at peace with yourself.
GOD is with you.
