RESIST THE DEVIL

'Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' - James 4 vs 7

Beloved, here is a practical step to resisting and defeating the devil in every battle of your life. We are more than conquerors in Christ our Lord. God Bless You.

From our opening scripture, we are told to resist the devil. Let's examine the word there RESIST. Now, you don't resist something that's on it's own, no. Something is only said be resisted when it comes against. Therefore, when God said, Resist the devil, He was silently telling you that the devil will come against you, but He said, RESIST!

The question here is, 'HOW DO I RESIST THE DEVIL?'

Let's look at the temptation experience of the Lord Jesus in the wilderness when He fasted for forty (40) days and forty (40) nights;

Luke 4:3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
4:9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
4:10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
4:11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
4:13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
{KING JAMES VERSION}

What do you observe from that event? When Satan attacked Jesus with words, Jesus is greater than the devil, hence, Jesus would have choosed to ignore him, yet, He replied him. You see? That shows us a spiritual principle for getting the devil off!

Reply the devil. - Selah

Replying the devil with what the WORD has said concerning you, your health, your finances, your family, your job, your academics, your ministry, is Resisting him! Jesus did not quote mere words to the devil, but He released scriptures! If you give that scriptural reading above a close look, you will find out that all Jesus kept on saying was, 'it is written.'
Do you know what has been written? Do you know what has been written concerning your job, your finances, your academics, your ministry, your marriage, do you know? - Selah.   When Satan attacks you with an health issue, answer him by telling him what has been written about your health. It works! - Selah.

In the three (3) recorded temptations of Jesus there above, the Bible will always say, 'and Jesus answered.'   My dear that health attack is a Question, answer it! Hear this Rhema, when Satan brings a sickness to you, or an attack, Satan brought it because he needs an answer to it, simple. That's what Jesus understood. Through out scriptures, Jesus answered every thing. Even a tree, when the fig tree did not bear fruits in Mark 11 vs 14, the Bible said, Jesus answered and said unto it. You see? That headache is a question from the devil! Answer him with this, 'They that dwell in Zion shall not say I am sick {Isaiah 33 vs 24}', and he will leave you alone, he will flee. O my God, that's what God was communicating to us in our opening scripture, that we should resist the devil, and he will flee from us. After Jesus had resisted the devil with the release of scriptural knowledge, look at what happened;

'And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.' - Luke 4 vs 13 {KJV}

Satan fleed! The devil departed from Him. You see? Can you now see that it works? - Selah.

This is how to resist the devil, by telling him what is written. Satan knows what's written, he knows by Jesus' stripes, you were healed, but that alone won't just get him off, until hears it from your own mouth. Satan just wants to be sure that you know what was done for you on the CROSS. That's all. But inasmuch as you know not, you will suffer in his hands, and that confirms Hosea 4 vs 6.

God Bless You.
