'Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost...' - Matthew 28 vs 19

Hello Dearly Beloved in the LORD JESUS. Greetings to you in the Name of the Precious LORD JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.

It appears to be that the concept of Water Baptism and the Holy Communion has been unclear to the understanding of many Believers today, and there has been some sorts of uproar as a result of that absence of understanding of the two (2) subjects. So let's look at the WORD of GOD and see what the WORD says concerning these two (2) subjects.

Firstly, I'd like to establish this Truth here that "GOD is not partial!" There's no partiality in GOD!

'But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.' - James 3 vs 17 {KJV}

The dealings of GOD is without partiality. Okay. Having established that, let's move on. On the subject of water baptism, one may ask, Is water baptism necessary for the Believer today? In answering that question it's important to note that there are Saint in Heaven presently who never got baptized in water while they were here on Earth. Yes! Men like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Enoch; they were not baptized in water; there's no such record in the Bible of them having being baptized in water, but they are in Heaven. How did they get there?

'For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.' - 1 Peter 3 vs 18 - 20 {KING JAMES VERSION}

Remember, JESUS was the first to descend from Heaven, and the first to also ascend to Heaven. Hence, none that died in the days of old before the days of the Messiah went straight into Heaven, not even Elijah neither Enoch. They all went into prison, (a prison without torment,) and there they waited for their Redeemer who finally showed up with the Gospel preached unto them; and by the Gospel they went out of prison and arose from their graves and ascended with the LORD into Heaven, even as the LORD lead that glorious and triumphant procession into Heaven;

'And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.' - Matthew 27 vs 52 - 53 {KING JAMES VERSION}

Hallelujah! They even appeared unto many, just the same way the LORD JESUS appeared unto many when HE resurrected from the dead. - Selah. This was a big wonder that happened! The bodies of the Saints arose! You see, they came out of prison where they have long been, waiting and expecting the Messiah who would deliver them from the bondage of death. And that Gloriously happened!

'There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Abraham said unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.' - Luke 16 vs 19 - 31 {KING JAMES VERSION}

Waowww!! Interesting. You would notice I highlighted many lines in the passages. Let's examine them. But firstly, know that this story which the LORD gave here is not a parable! It's a revelation of an activity that took place in the realm of the dead. He just chipped that gist to the people, so that they can realize the importance of listening to the message of Moses and the prophets which is "CHRIST." - Selah

How do I know it's not a parable? Well, the LORD mentioned the names of real personalities; HE mentioned Abraham in the story, HE affirmed another name Lazarus! That makes that story go beyond a parable, that was a true life story - because the story involved true life personalities. - Selah

'Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.' - John 5 vs 39 {KJV}

You see... The people including the Pharisees and the Scribes claimed to know the Law and the Prophets, yet they could not see the message of the Law which is "CHRIST", who was live standing before them. They could not see HIM. Uhmmm.

'Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.' - Matthew 13 vs 13 - 14 {KING JAMES VERSION}

So you see, though they read and heard the reading of the Law always, yet they could not see nor hear HIM (CHRIST) who is the message of what they read and hear. - Selah

Okay, having cleared these things, the point I'm showing you hear is that Abraham didn't go to Heaven directly when He died, no. He went to hell (hades - the realm of the dead.) And in hades, He stayed in a compartment called "Abraham's Bosom or Paradise." It was not a place of torment. Remember, the word "hell" as used in the passage is the word "hades", which is the general word for "the realm of the dead." Let's look at this;

'And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.' - Luke 23 vs 43 {KJV}

Notice the LORD'S Word, "Today!" If the LORD made use of the word "Today", that means it wasn't Heaven HE referred to; because HE was in the realm of the dead (hades) for three (3) days before HE resurrected and went to Heaven (alone first.) So that day, what Paradise did the Brother go? It's clear to us, that it was Abraham's Bosom in hades, where all who followed after GOD before the arrival of the Messiah on Earth went. There are deeper explanations to this discussion. But for the sake of the subject we are dealing with now, I wouldn't want to make that digression.

Okay, so we see that the men of old needed to place their Faith in the Gospel and in the Messiah to make it to Heaven, just as we today! That shows us again that there's no partiality with GOD! So if those men of old didn't need water baptism to be Saved but Faith in the Messiah and HIS Gospel, and there's no partiality with GOD, then that means water baptism is also not a requirement for Salvation today but Faith in CHRIST by the Gospel.  Selah

'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.' - John 3 vs 16 {KJV}

Salvation by Believing alone. No water baptism attached.

'He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.' - John 3 vs 18 {KJV}

Salvation by Believing alone. No water baptism attached.

'And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy Kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.' - Luke 23 vs 42  43 {KING JAMES VERSION}

This man wasn't baptized in water, but He got Salvation. It was by His Faith in the Saviour. - Selah

If Mr. A got Salvation without water baptism, but by Faith in the Savior, the narratives will not be different for Mr. B or Mr. C. By Faith alone! - Selah

So we have been able to establish that water baptism does not hold for Salvation! But Faith in CHRIST only. AMEN.

Nevertheless, see this;

'Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost...' - Matthew 28 vs 19 {KJV}

The LORD asked that it should be done. Yes we know Salvation is not a result of water baptism, but the LORD instructed that it should be done! Hence, the Apostles adhered strictly to it;

'Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.' - Acts 2 vs 28 {KJV}

He had to instruct the people to be baptized in water, because the LORD instructed that it should be done. Take note.

'And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, if thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.' - Acts 8 vs 36 - 38 {KING JAMES VERSION}

And He baptized him!

'And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.' - Acts 9 vs 18 {KJV}

Apostle Paul was baptized!

'And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.' - Acts 10 vs 48 {KJV}

Cornelius and all who received Salvation in that place were baptized.

'I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Giaus...' - 1 Corinthians 1 vs 14 {KJV}

The Great Apostle Paul of the Grace of GOD baptized Crispus and Giaus!

'And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.' - 1 Corinthians 1 vs 16 {KJV}

The same Apostle Paul baptized a complete household, even the household of Stephanas.

You see Beloved friend, the Believer is to be baptized in water because the LORD instructed that it should be done, and all the Apostles paid strict compliance to that instruction; so should you too in getting baptized. - Selah

If you have the chance and opportunity to, then get baptized! If you die before you get to have a chance or opportunity to be baptized, then you're good any way, because you are Saved already by your Faith in CHRIST. But now that you have the opportunity to do so, and the HOLY SPIRIT has put the nudge in your Heart, don't rebel against that inner nudge, get baptized in water. You simply yield to the LORD'S instruction by getting baptized in water. That's all, and that's what it is. - Selah

Now, the difference between the baptism of John and the LORD's baptism is clear! John's baptism signified that the Messiah would come, be killed, be buried and HE will resurrect. So when John deeped a man into the water, it symbolized that that man believes that the Messiah would come, would be killed, would be buried, and HE would resurrect. This was a futuristic/hopeful identification with the Work of CHRIST because as at the time of John's baptism, the Messiah hadn't shown up on stage, HE hadn't carried out HIS sacrificial work of atonement as at the time of John's baptism. - Selah

But the LORD'S baptism signifies that the Messiah has come, has being killed, has being buried, and HE has resurrected gloriously and triumphantly from the dead. Hallelujah! So when a man is baptized in the Name of the LORD, it symbolizes that that man believes that the Messiah has come, has been killed, has been buried, and HE has resurrected from the dead; it symbolizes that that man believes in the death, burial and resurrection of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.

So you see, water baptism, whether John's baptism or the LORD's baptism, they are simply symbolic sacraments, and not that they hold the Power of Salvation; as Salvation is only received by Faith in the Gospel. - Selah

So therefore Beloved, if even the LORD JESUS was baptized (which was as well a symbol of what would happen to HIM - That HE would be killed, buried, and HE would resurrect), the Apostle Paul was baptized, then why do you say water baptism is not important? - Think about it. Water baptism is important because the LORD said we should be baptized in water. Hence, water baptism is a sacrament (a sacred/holy practice) for the Church of JESUS CHRIST. AMEN.

The Holy Communion is also a sacrament of the Church which is to be practiced. Just as water baptism is symbolic, so is the Holy Communion. The Holy Communion symbolizes our union and oneness with the LORD JESUS. Also, the LORD JESUS said it should be done in remembrance of HIM. So the Holy Communion is a practice to be done in the remembrance of the Blessed LORD JESUS, remembrance of HIS Precious sacrifice for our sins, which has brought us everlasting Salvation. AMEN.

'For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus, the same night in which he was betrayed, took bread:
And when he had given thanks, he break it, and said, Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.' - 1 Corinthians 11 vs 23 - 24 {KING JAMES VERSION}

We are to do it in remembrance of the LORD JESUS. It's a very clear instruction from the LORD JESUS. Just as the LORD also clearly instructed that water baptism should be carried out in HIS Name as we have seen above. Clear instructions!

We carry out these practices of Water Baptism and the Holy Communion because they are instructions given to us by our LORD. Yes we know Salvation comes by Faith in HIS Name alone, yes! But we don't neglect the instructions handed to us by the same LORD. AMEN.

'Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.' - Acts 2 vs 41 {KJV}

The early Believers were baptized, why wouldn't you?

'And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.' - Acts 2 vs 42 {KJV}

The Brethren continued with the Apostles in the breaking of Bread; the Apostles carried on this tradition, why shouldn't you? - Selah

GOD gives you understanding. AMEN.
