YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN

'The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.' - John 1 vs 29

Hello dearly beloved of God, greetings. Grace be to you and peace from God our father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. I trust that you will be refreshed in your faith in the grace of God in Christ Jesus, after reading this Article. God is with you. Okay let's go.

Someone asked a question one time saying, What exact sin did the Lord's sacrifice take away? Past, Present or Future sins? And that's the aim of this article, to provide answer to that question. Now I asked that fellow, When the Lord came to take away the sin of the world according to our opening Bible passage, were you born by that time into the world? and the fellow was like, no. Then I said, if it is true that you were not born when it was declared that the Lord came to take away the sin of the world, then what sin in you did He take away? Past, Present or Future? Now I left this fellow thinking. Lol.

Dearly beloved the Sacrifice which the Lord offered for the sins of men was not only for those who were on earth at that time of the Sacrifice, but for all men who would enter into the world;

'That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.' - John 1 vs 9 {KJV}

This Bible verse clearly shows us that the sacrifice of Christ's death made provision not only for the men alive in His days on earth, but for every man that comes into this world. Hallelujah! Glory to God.

By implication of that, it's obvious that everything that speaks of sin in the life of one who is in Christ Jesus the Lord is forgiven, whether they be sins past before he came to the Lord, or sins present, or sins which might occur in the future.

'For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.' - Hebrews 10 vs 14 {KJV}

Who are them that are sanctified? Let's see;

'By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.' - Hebrews 10 vs 10 {KJV}

It's obvious here. Take note of the underlined words in the Bible verse, we are sanctified. That means, them that are the sanctified are the believers in Christ, they who have accepted the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus; in other words, those that believe! You get it right? yea it's clear now. So going back to Hebrews 10 vs 14 above, we see that those that believe in the Lord Jesus, who have accepted His sacrifice for their sins have been perfected forever. Glory to God. Let me take a little time to emphasis what that means;

The word "perfected" in the Greek is translated teleioo, and that means "to consecrate", and to consecrate means to be made holy. - Selah. So in other words, by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, God made the Believer forever holy! - Think about it. How can God who has made you to attain that state in Christ hold a sin against you? - Not my God! Not my Jesus. Think on these words.

Remember, we walk by faith and not by sight {2 Corinthians 5 vs 7}: if you walk by sight, if you consider your natural state of conduct, you can never accept the reality of the Gospel concerning you - you will continually see yourself as a sinner who needs help! But if you choose to walk by faith, believing what God has made you in Christ; Righteous, Forgiven, Holy, Perfected, even as we have seen in the Bible passages above, then you will have the peace of God, and by holding on to the Truth of the Gospel, you become changed into the very realities that you believe, in the process of time. Yes it takes time.

'But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.' - 2 Corinthians 3 vs 18 {KJV}

Three words in this Bible passage that captures my above explanations;

  • Beholding
  • Are changed into the same image
  • From glory to glory

Beholding
As you hold on to the truths of the Gospel, accepting the identity that the Gospel says you are irrespective of what you seem to be in the physical

Are changed into the same image
By beholding the truths of the Gospel, you are changed into the same image that you behold. Meaning, the very Gospel realities you believe, you change into them if you hold on to them

From glory to glory
This means that the growth is progressive. You don't attain level 20 all at once, no! It's gradually. In summary, the change (transformation) takes time, and it's in levels. Step by step, bit by bit, you will see your conducts change, you are no longer the same. As you hold on to the truths of the Gospel, refusing to see yourself after the physical appearance, but after what the Gospel has said concerning you, change happens to you, step by step, that's what the Apostle speaks of as "from glory to glory". - Think about it

Dearly beloved, rejoice this day in what Christ has done for you. Your sins are forgiven. Hallelujah!

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
